We only use Li(NiMnCo)O2 Lithium Polymer batteries on Wisper electric bikes, they are more weight efficient than all other types, (power to weight ratios are far superior) and have a considerably longer life, lasting for around 700 - 1000 cycles. 

Wisper rechargeable batteries combine high energy chemistry with state of the art polymer technology. Every battery component is solid; there are no liquids that need to be contained by bulky, heavy cell housings as in normal lithium Ion batteries. The result is a powerful, safe, thin and light weight battery with a wide operating temperature range and no memory effect.

Because there are no ridged heavy cell housings in our batteries the components are all together more flexible and are not prone to cracking or becoming disconnected from each other.

All Wisper batteries have an integrated Protection Circuit Module (PCM) battery management system.  The PCM protects the battery from over charging, current surges, over discharge, short circuiting, and balances the cells each time the battery is charged.  In short it looks after your battery and keeps it fit!

Unlike cheaper batteries they do not need to be fully discharged and charged to maximise longevity, top them up as and when you choose for as long as is convenient. They are more expensive than other types but truly are state of the art. Lithium Polymer is the top of the range. 

 Lithium Polymer batteries are very easily recycled, so when they eventually need replacing, we will part-exchange them allowing a £50 credit against the price of a new one.

“On the 1st July 2006 the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006 implementing the European Directive came fully into force.

These regulations restrict the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBE and PBDE in electronic and electrical equipment covered by the regulations.

Producers and importers into the European Union are responsible for ensuring that their products comply with the regulations and that that they maintain evidence of that compliance for inspection by the enforcement authority.

The RoHS enforcement authority has begun enforcement of the regulations since the coming into force and has already been working closely with trade associations, quality systems organisations and individual companies providing advice and support on the interpretation of the regulations.”
